The measures also include the construction of a state-of-the-art paint shop, which MVI PROPLANT Nord was commissioned to plan and implement at the end of 2019. Heino Meyer, Deputy Project Manager, gives us an insight into this major construction project.<\/strong> The expansion of the Emden plant was a milestone in the company&#8217;s electromobility strategy. A new paint shop was added to the existing halls as an integral part of the project &#8211; a greenfield construction project. At the end of 2019, MVI PROPLANT Nord was awarded the general planning contract worth more than \u20ac1.4 million. &#8220;It is now one of our largest construction projects,&#8221; says Heino Meyer, deputy project manager. &#8220;We have now taken on the performance phases (LPh) 5-9 of the construction project as general planners.&#8221; The contract included all planning services in accordance with HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) &#8211; from implementation planning (LPh5), preparation of the award of contract (LPh6), participation in the award of contract (LPh7), project supervision and documentation (LPh8) to project management (LPh9). A bi-colour paint shop was built, in which the roof of the e-models is painted in a different colour than in the main paint shop. <strong>MVI PROPLANT overcomes numerous project challenges <\/strong>\u00a0\u201cFrom 2019 to December 2021, constant on-site staffing of the construction site was to be provided, which proved difficult due to the coronavirus restrictions,\u201d explains the civil engineer. From incomplete data sets to changing specifications, the MVI PROPLANT Nord team had to demonstrate its expertise and flexibility. The variants of the building layout were extensively revised several times. In addition, a conveyor bridge had to be installed, which had a considerable impact on the planning due to its connection to an existing hall. The areas of fire protection and statics were completely revised. Constant changes accompanied the project and demanded continuous adaptability from the team. <strong>Special structural measures <\/strong>Environmental concerns play a major role in a paint shop. The requirements from the BImSchG authorisation procedure with regard to emissions are strict. \u2018That&#8217;s why we were faced with the task of building an exhaust air chimney, a chimney so to speak. It had to be 35 metres high because the Bi-Color hall is lower than the much higher main paint shop next to it.\u2019 This height of an exhaust chimney is rare and a special construction measure that was realised with skill and teamwork. In November 2022, MVI PROPLANT Nord reached a milestone: the handover of the new paint shop. But even after the handover, the project is not yet complete. \u2018We are currently finalising the requirements of the building inspectorate in the area of the external escape staircases. In addition, fire-resistant retrofits, such as the installation of other doors, still have to be implemented while painting operations continue.\u2019 This is a time-consuming task, as dust must not be allowed to enter a paint shop, which means that the enclosure of the construction site area to the hall must be carried out very meticulously. The final building inspection by the Emden building authority, which is still outstanding, is expected to take place in mid-2024. <strong>Customer feedback: MVI PROPLANT team has shown staying power <\/strong>All these special circumstances in a time of crisis made the construction project complex. &#8220;But the client gave us positive feedback, because we proved our staying power and stamina and gained a good reputation as a general planner in a major project,&#8221; says Heino Meyer happily. He also knows that the customer is currently reviewing all of its European paint shops for future viability. So if there was a need for the construction or conversion of ultra-modern paint shops, MVI PROPLANT Nord would seize the opportunity here. Ein Projekt, das nicht nur den Abschied von 12 Jahren Modellproduktion markierte, sondern auch die beeindruckende Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit und Effizienz von MVI PROPLANT unter Beweis stellte.<\/strong> <strong>Der Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer Jan Hevier berichtet \u00fcber das Projekt.<\/strong><\/p><p>\u201eInnerhalb von 3 Wochen gelang es uns eine riesige Halle komplett abzubauen und auszur\u00e4umen, damit die Halleninstallation f\u00fcr die neuen Modelle starten konnte\u201c, erz\u00e4hlt Jan Hevier. \"Wir hatten nur wenig Zeit, um schnell eine 150-k\u00f6pfige Mannschaft aufzustellen und zu koordinieren. Kurzfristig wurden mit lokalen Partnerfirmen Auftr\u00e4ge abgewickelt z.B. f\u00fcr den Elektro-Abbau, den Einsatz von Gabelstaplern und Hebeb\u00fchnen.\" Dabei spielten ca. 20 slowakische Kolleg:innen vor Ort eine entscheidende Rolle, insbesondere bei der elektrischen und technischen Bauleitung der Gro\u00dfbaustelle.<\/p><p>Mit dem festen Ziel, den Zeitplan einzuhalten, arbeitete das Team drei Wochen lang in 24-Stunden-Schichten. \u201eDas war eine gro\u00dfe Herausforderung f\u00fcr uns alle\u201c, betont Hevier. Besondere Anforderungen an das Projekt machten es noch anspruchsvoller \u201e320 Roboter mussten fachgerecht f\u00fcr die Wiederverwendung demontiert werden, dazu war die technische Kompetenz im Bereich Robotertechnik erforderlich.\u201c Zus\u00e4tzlich galt es, gro\u00dfe Mengen Gefahrgut unter Einhaltung strenger Umweltauflagen abzubauen und zu entsorgen \u2013 eine Aufgabe, die von den Experten aus Bratislava erfolgreich bew\u00e4ltigt wurde.<\/p><p>\u201eDies war das bisher gr\u00f6\u00dfte Projekt f\u00fcr unseren Standort, und wir freuen uns sehr, dass alles reibungslos und organisiert abgelaufen ist.
