Now the MVI site in Wolfsburg is combining this expertise with the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). Customer demand in this area is increasing. Sven Gabrysch, Business Solutions, gives us an insight into the topic of shopfloor AI at MVI in an interview.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHardly any other area is currently influenced as much by the ongoing technological leaps as production,\u201d says our expert, describing developments on the market, \u201drobotics and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) play a key role in today&#8217;s production lines.\u201d As experts in the field of production and logistics, the MVI Group offers everything from the planning of the entire factory to the complete implementation of production and logistics processes. In this environment, the technology of our time has naturally also established itself, which is currently the focus of attention in many areas of application: artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can AI make production processes more efficient, Sven?<\/strong><br \/>The core idea of using artificial intelligence (AI), especially in the field of visual recognition (computer vision), directly in the production environment (\u201cstore floor\u201d), is to automate and improve tasks such as<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>automatic quality control (e.g. detection of defects on components, spot welds)<\/li>\n<li>object recognition (e.g. for logistics control, presence control of parts)<\/li>\n<li>monitoring various production steps (primary forming, forming, joining, coating, assembly)<\/li>\n<li>Increasing occupational safety (detection of hazardous situations, monitoring of safety zones)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19328 alignleft \" src=\"https:\/\/mvi-group.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Objekterkennung_Stopfen_skaliert_2x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"837\" height=\"472\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mvi-group.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Objekterkennung_Stopfen_skaliert_2x.jpg 837w, https:\/\/mvi-group.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Objekterkennung_Stopfen_skaliert_2x-480x271.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 837px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>And what advantages does holistic solution expertise offer when it comes to AI integration?<\/strong><br \/>The innovation of our approach to establishing AI in production lies in specifically addressing key challenges in the implementation of AI solutions in industry:<\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>use of synthetic data:<\/strong> A central point of innovation is the generation and use of synthetic, photorealistic image data generated from CAx data (CAD). This overcomes the limitation that real image data is often not available in sufficient quantity, variety or for rare defect cases, or is very cost-intensive to generate. The MVI can thus specifically simulate defects and variations (e.g. exposure, surface structure, position) in order to effectively train AI models.<br \/>2. <strong>explainable AI<\/strong>: To increase trust in the \u201cblack box\u201d of AI, we rely on explainable AI methods. This makes the decisions of the AI models comprehensible and transparent.<br \/>3.<strong> holistic solution expertise<\/strong>: MVI is not limited to software and AI, but integrates domain knowledge from consulting, IT, automation and design. They offer a \u201cone-stop shop\u201d service, which leads to more functional overall systems.<br \/>4. <strong>industry-capable processes<\/strong>: MVI follows a structured process (incl. Ein Projekt, das nicht nur den Abschied von 12 Jahren Modellproduktion markierte, sondern auch die beeindruckende Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit und Effizienz von MVI PROPLANT unter Beweis stellte.<\/strong> <strong>Der Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer Jan Hevier berichtet \u00fcber das Projekt.<\/strong><\/p><p>\u201eInnerhalb von 3 Wochen gelang es uns eine riesige Halle komplett abzubauen und auszur\u00e4umen, damit die Halleninstallation f\u00fcr die neuen Modelle starten konnte\u201c, erz\u00e4hlt Jan Hevier. \"Wir hatten nur wenig Zeit, um schnell eine 150-k\u00f6pfige Mannschaft aufzustellen und zu koordinieren. Kurzfristig wurden mit lokalen Partnerfirmen Auftr\u00e4ge abgewickelt z.B. f\u00fcr den Elektro-Abbau, den Einsatz von Gabelstaplern und Hebeb\u00fchnen.\" Dabei spielten ca. 20 slowakische Kolleg:innen vor Ort eine entscheidende Rolle, insbesondere bei der elektrischen und technischen Bauleitung der Gro\u00dfbaustelle.<\/p><p>Mit dem festen Ziel, den Zeitplan einzuhalten, arbeitete das Team drei Wochen lang in 24-Stunden-Schichten. \u201eDas war eine gro\u00dfe Herausforderung f\u00fcr uns alle\u201c, betont Hevier. Besondere Anforderungen an das Projekt machten es noch anspruchsvoller \u201e320 Roboter mussten fachgerecht f\u00fcr die Wiederverwendung demontiert werden, dazu war die technische Kompetenz im Bereich Robotertechnik erforderlich.\u201c Zus\u00e4tzlich galt es, gro\u00dfe Mengen Gefahrgut unter Einhaltung strenger Umweltauflagen abzubauen und zu entsorgen \u2013 eine Aufgabe, die von den Experten aus Bratislava erfolgreich bew\u00e4ltigt wurde.<\/p><p>\u201eDies war das bisher gr\u00f6\u00dfte Projekt f\u00fcr unseren Standort, und wir freuen uns sehr, dass alles reibungslos und organisiert abgelaufen ist.
