In Bratislava, MVI PROPLANT s.r.o. has reached a new milestone: the successful and fast-paced dismantling of the production hall for the legendary NSF (New Small Family) models from VW Slovakia. The project marked the end of 12 years of model production and demonstrated MVI PROPLANT’s impressive performance and efficiency. Managing Director Jan Hevier reports on the project.
“Within three weeks, we dismantled and cleared a large hall so that the installation for the new models could begin,” says Jan Hevier. “We had to quickly set up and coordinate a 150-strong team.” At short notice, orders were processed with local partner companies, for example, for electrical dismantling, and the use of forklift trucks and lifting platforms. Around 20 Slovakian colleagues played a decisive role on-site, particularly in the electrical and technical construction management of the large construction site. With the firm goal of keeping to the schedule, the team worked in 24-hour shifts for three weeks. “That was a significant challenge for all of us,” emphasizes Hevier. The project presented special requirements that made it even more demanding. The dismantling of 320 robots for reuse required technical expertise in robotics. In addition, the dismantling and disposal of large quantities of hazardous materials, in compliance with strict environmental regulations, was successfully completed by the experts from Bratislava.
This was the largest project for our site to date, and we are pleased to report that everything went smoothly and in an organized manner. The successful completion enabled VW to immediately commence the installation of the hall for the new models,” summarizes Managing Director Jan Hevier.”
